Solstice Hike in the Alabama Hills

Join Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association’s Nancy Hadlock and BLM Volunteer Richard Potashin for a two-hour hike learning what makes the Alabama Hills such a special place to spend the shortest day of the year. Following the hike, return to the Eastern Sierra Visitor Center to create a Solstice ornament and/or a piece of artwork.
Note: From 1-3 p.m. Nancy and Richard will be at the Eastern Sierra Visitor Center (Junction of Highways 395 and 136) sharing Solstice stories and assisting anyone who wants to create an ornament or piece of Solstice artwork.
WHEN: 10 a.m. to noon, including drive time
WHERE: The Eastern Sierra Interagency Visitor Center, U.S. 395 and
CA-136, Lone Pine, California. We’ll carpool from there.
WEAR: Layered clothing for a range of conditions, sturdy footwear
and plenty of water.
